Our house is centrally located and yet very quiet in a residential area in the heart of Garmisch. If you drive from Klarweinstrasse to Talackerstrasse, you will immediately experience one of the many postcard motifs that this incredibly beautiful and inspiring landscape offers. Richard Strauß wrote his Alpine Synphony just a few hundred meters from us. Kandinsky and the Blue Rider were just as fascinated by the mountains as Michael Ende, who wrote his Never-ending Story here in the village. Whether you are looking for peace and quiet or sporting activities, the holiday apartment Amelie is a wonderful starting point. To the Garmisch city center, the Marienplatz and the pedestrian zone starting there, it is only 500m away, grocery stores and restaurants are practically around the corner.

We grew up in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau, respectively, and then spent many years on the road in Munich and around the world. Every time we come back to the "Golden Land", as the Werdenfelser Land is called, we are always overwhelmed by its beauty. The mountains, whether in summer or winter, offer so many possibilities. In addition, Garmisch and its people are different. The surroundings radiate somehow, one is calmer, more down-to-earth, more traditional but still extremely cosmopolitan and tollerant.

For us it is a huge advantage that you can walk to the city centre. Whether in the evening in the beer garden, e.g. in the Bräustüberl, or if you want to have it more chic in the "Alte Druckerei", everything in the heart of Garmisch is within walking distance, even the Garmisch beer tent or the annual white night in summer. The skiing areas Hausberg and Kreuzeck/Osterfelder are only 5 minutes away. Here's a little tip: Whether you want to go to the classic area or to the Zugspitze, you can start at Kreuzeck. There are always enough parking spaces available. Even if you want to get to the Eibsee in summer, this is the ideal starting point to reach your destination with the Zugspitzbahn. Another advantage, there is no access control. That means you never have to wait for the next train! The region is a dream for mountain bikers and hikers alike, whether you cycle through the Eschenlaine Valley and the Finsbach up the Wank or via the Partnachalm, Böckhütte to the Hausberg, there are countless routes. The Wank is perfect for hikers and sun worshippers and the Partnach- or even better the Höllentalklam offer cooling even on the hottest days.
