Away from the wealth of attractions, activities and highlights in Cologne's lively city center and at the trade fair, we would personally like to recommend that you explore the immediate surroundings.
Enjoy relaxing walks around the idyllic Scheuermühlenteich pond, which is located near the Cologne-Wahn air force barracks.
Another recommendation is a walk along the north aisle of the runway, where you can not only watch the planes land - in summer, this place also invites you to enjoy cozy picnics and relaxing sessions.
And nature lovers can take a walk through the picturesque Bieselwald forest.
Here's what you can discover in the city of Cologne:
Cologne Cathedral:
Cologne Cathedral is one of Germany's most famous landmarks and is just a short drive from the Lind district. The impressive Gothic architecture and the opportunity to climb the cathedral and enjoy a breathtaking view over the city make the visit an unforgettable experience.
Rhine embankment promenade:
The picturesque Rhine embankment promenade stretches along the Rhine, perfect for relaxing walks or bike rides. Here you can enjoy the atmosphere of the river, visit traditional Cologne pubs and admire the panorama of the old town.
Museum Ludwig:
Art lovers should not miss the Museum Ludwig in Cologne's city center. It houses an impressive collection of modern art, including works by Picasso, Warhol and many other important artists.
Chocolate Museum:
A sweet highlight is the Chocolate Museum, which will not only delight chocolate lovers. Here, visitors can learn all about the history of chocolate, explore interactive exhibitions and, of course, taste different types of chocolate.
