My family and I, who live in Munich, bought our treasure, the attic in Schneizleuth, in 2017 after a long search. We really love and enjoy the nature, the mountains and the culture in the region. The network of hiking trails, which covers over 150 km, offers you wonderful opportunities to develop - from a hike through the alpine pastures to a summit climb. Most alpine pastures can be reached on well-developed and often not difficult paths - with the prospect of a tasty "Oimbrot". Cyclists are sure to be familiar with the Mozart or Tauern cycle path. The Way of St. James certainly means something to pilgrims. They all lead through the municipality. Many additional hiking trails throughout the municipality are easily accessible, such as the “Around the Saalachsee” trail below the Müllnerhorn. You can also go fishing here, for example. For experienced hikers and mountaineers: Sonntagshorn, Gamsknogel, Zwiesel, Müllnerhorn and Vogelspitz. If you love historical hiking trails, the Soleleitungsweg is the right place for you. More than 400 years ago, the “oldest pipeline in the world” was laid from Reichenhall to Traunstein. Art and culture lovers can visit numerous museums and churches in the immediate vicinity. In winter, it's not just the clear air that invites you to go hiking! Sports enthusiasts are attracted by extensive cross-country ski trails in the immediate vicinity (directly behind the property) as well as in neighboring Inzell, Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl, as well as the speed skating hall in Inzell and the biathlon center in Ruhpolding. Rupertustherme is another attraction in Bad Reichenhall. With highlights such as the Weißbachschlucht, the glacier garden with the Weißbach Falls and the Aschauerklamm at the foot of the mighty Reiteralpe, you can experience the forces of nature up close and get to know the geology.
