Old Roses Guesthouse is situated in an absolutely quiet location surrounded by a 3000qm garden plot but as well only 150 meters away from the center of the cosy village of Broager. If you are looking for a comfortable stay in Broager without worries about extra-charges or work on breakfast, linnen, towels, final cleaning etc. the Old Roses Guesthouse is your perfect choice. A lot of small beaches, the broad and popular beach at Vemmingbund and the beautiful coastal pathway "Gendarmstien" are easy to reach. The freshly renovated Old Roses Guestouse was built in the 1930's and its interieur combines the charme of yesterday with todays comfort. Two Apartments offer a stunning view over the rooftops of Broager and the Flensborg Fjord. The third Apartment offers a nice Garden-View. If you want to soak some sun for a while or you would like to have a drink or a snack while listening to the birds, there are many places in our garden for you to enjoy. Feel free to take a seat. All Apartments are fitted with a Nespresso-Coffeemaker, water boiler, Refrigerator, 2 Flatscreen TV/Google-Home, as well as most things for your daily needs, like luxury towels, soap, shower gel or hairdryer.

In 2018 we fell in love at first sight with this house and its beautiful garden and bought it. Although we knew it would take a lot of work and time to bring it back to its former glory, because the house only had some partial renovations between the 50s and the 90s and was uninhabited for several years. But thanks to the field-stone foundation from the 19th century and solid walls the substance of the House was well preserved. So we spontaneously decided that this should be the place where we will build the Guesthouse we dreamt of: Close to beaches, situated in a beautiful landscape of unspoiled nature on a plot where we can grow our own fruits, herbs and vegetables. And of course the roses. Around the house and in the garden there were some very old roses and we took special care to save them through all the construction work. Now we ad more historical fragranced roses to the collection every year to make the garden a paradise of fragrances and color. As we both love to make our own jam and lemonade the roses will be a luxurious addition to our recipes. We are glad to welcome our first visitors in 2021 and hope they will enjoy this place as much as we do.

Broager is the perfect place to explore the Broagerland and all attractions in the close-by area. There are the beautiful castles of Sonderborg (10km), Grasten (6km) and Augustenborg (15km), the well preserved ancient battlefields at Dybbol Banke (6km), the city of Sonderborg with its beautiful harbor or the large woodlands of Noerreskov on that hides more than eighty different ancient stone monuments like circles, graves or sacrificial stones dating from up to 3000 bc. Hikers, walkers, cyclists and horse-riders find their perfect routes on the Gendarmstien following the coastline or in the woods around Grasten. The (most of the time) friendly Baltic Sea largely dispenses with ebb and flow of the tide so that fun in or on the sea ist possible all day long. For example Vemmingbund bay ist preferred for swimming, stand-up-paddling, canoeing and the Iller Strand, right in front of the old brick factory "Cathrinesminde" (now a museum) is a paradise for Kiters. Skippers who sail the Flensborg Fjord enjoy their rest in the big harbor of Sonderborg or in the idyllic bays of Marina Minde or Egernsund. Last but not least the church of Broager with its old wall paintings is worth a visit.
