Our family moved to our little village Basieda over 30 years ago - we're passionate about the region and love its unspoiled nature.

Property information

The Olmares apartments are the perfect place to get away from it all, peace and quiet and fresh mountain air with simply stunning views! These beautifully restored apartments, are really comfortable with high quality twin beds, duvets, cotton sheets, soft towels with central heating throughout but cool in summer. The perfect place to rest and recharge. Apart from just relaxing, Olmares’s true “raison d’être” is walking, bird-watching, wild life and wild flowers, there are numerous great hikes to go on straight from your doorstep.

Neighbourhood information

This part of the Liébana Valley remains unspoilt with first rate walking, climbing, bird-watching and wild flowers. Potes is also only 15 minutes drive away and is a beautiful town with great restaurants, bars and plenty of activities on offer. The coast with its white sandy beaches is only an hour away through the dramatic Hermida Gorge. Our village is wonderfully situated just between The Picos de Europa National Park (which extends over the provinces of Cantabria, Asturias and León) and also the edge of the hugely under explored Fuentes Carrionas National Park.
