The house is in a stunning location on the edge of the Barrancos de Gebas and the Parque Natural de Sierra Espuna. There are many walks/cycles directly from the house. An hour's walk takes you to a turquoise dam where you can often swim by yourself. This first floor house is newly renovated and comfortably furnished.. more photos will be posted when decoration is complete. Highlights include a roof terrace with stunning views, a snug with wood fire, well equipped kitchen. 2 bedrooms + sofa bed. You will need a car to get here and around. Towns of Alhama de Murcia and Mula are 20 minutes away with all facilities and eating options. There are a few eating options nearby but not open all week.

I worked for Fair Trade for many years and have travelled the world. I like to find off the beaten track places when I am travelling to meet people and share in their culture. Where my mother made her home outside Fuente Librilla is one of my favourite places - I love the landscape, the peace and the views, and the culture of the people in this farming community I will be staying nearby and can be reached by phone to sort any problems promptly. Beautiful walks and cycle rides from the house, and Sierra Espuna is known rock climbing. The house is a few minutes by car from the village of Fuente Librilla (or a nice walk away) and the towns of Alhama de Murcia and Mula are 20 minutes drive. Both have historic old centres and every amenity. An hour and a quarter away is the nature reserve of Cal Blanque with lovely beaches backed by mountains or nearer are many more civilised beaches. There are good motorway links to Andalucia from Alhama de Murcia and it is only a few hours drive to Granada. The quiet Spanish village of Fuente Librilla is a 5 minute drive away and has a good baker (panaderia), 2 small supermarkets with surprisingly good produce, a butcher and fishmonger, chemist, a couple of cafes and a restaurant. There is a health centre and community centre and of course the church. Their fiesta in October is magnificent and the numbers of the community swell as family members all return to their village. Other cultural events often take place. For a very small village it is well serviced. The large city of Murcia is easily accessible which has spectacular Spring festivities. Totana which is reknowned for its pottery is nearby and Lorca can be easily reached to experience their Easter processions with spectacular horsemanship. In the other direction beyond Mula are the pilgrimage places of Caravaca de la Cruz.
