Les Voltes is a certified, newly renovated, country apartment, part of which is built over an arch dating from at least the 14th century. The arch, which was originally called Les Voltes de Gratapalles, is a protected part of the local heritage. Fully renovated traditional apartment that is practical and functional yet retains all its original charm and character. We undertook this recent renovation to create a space where we ourselves would like to live. The apartment has four balconies, two leading off from the living room/kitchen area (40 m2) and one in each bedroom. Both bedrooms have brand-new large double beds (150 x 200 cm bed), ceiling fans, and black-out blinds. All the spaces have heating and air-conditioning. All guests have exclusive use of our upstairs chillout area, which consists of a lounge with over 700 vinyls and CDs, a mini-bar, darts, books and games. There is a dedicated office with wall-to-wall views, a terrace and a solarium with 360º views. Les Voltes is located in one of the most emblematic squares of a beautiful yet little-known village called Barberà de la Conca, less than a minute's walk from the local shop, the chemist´s, the bank, the baker´s, the butcher´s, the castle, and the church. The village is located on a hilltop with stunning views of the countryside dotted with vineyards and cornfields. Barberà has a village cafè, which is open all year round, and a restaurant: La Marinada. The village also has a quiet outdoor swimming pool with plenty of grass and shade that opens from the last week of June to the end of August or mid September. Barberà, with its narrow, hilly streets dotted with shady squares and overlooked by a Knights Templar castle dating from the 12th century, is set on a hill with views over vineyards with the Conca de Barberà denomination of origin.

Anne, from Ireland, and Jordi, from Catalonia, have called Barberà de la Conca home since 2012, when they purchased and began restoring Les Voltes. To quote Anne, "staying at Les Voltes is like a holiday within a holiday." Since opening Voltes I in 2017 and expanding with Voltes II and III in 2024, they’ve welcomed guests from across the globe. Living in the village year-round, Anne and Jordi are always nearby to share recommendations on local wineries, scenic trails, or anything else to make your stay unforgettable. Known for their laid-back and friendly style, they strike the perfect balance between being helpful and respecting guests' privacy. The area is ideal for cuture vultures, nature lovers, wine lovers, hikers and cyclists, artists, and writers, and for anyone looking to get away from it all in a beautiful setting. The climate in the region is Mediterranean-Continental, with hot, dry days and cool nights in summer. The area is ideal for walking and cycling, with a multitude of dirt tracks and paths running between vines and olive and almond trees. Barberà is within easy reach of the Ruta del Cister, linking up the three monasteries of Poblet, Santes Creus and Vallbona de les Monges. Another interesting local place to visit outside Barberà is the medieval town of Montblanc, 10 minutes away. Reus, 20 minutes away, is an excellent place to combine some shopping and take in some beautiful modernist buildings. The ancient Roman city of Tarragona, 30 minutes away, has a lively, well-preserved old quarter and monuments. And should you want some thrills, Port Aventura, Ferrari Land, and the famous beach resorts of Salou and Cambrils are just 40 minutos away. Other more tranquil beaches are also within easy reach (around 30-60 minutes away by car). Guests can use the village swimming pool for free during their stay.
