Room with double bed & private balcony: Bright double bedroom with a view of the lake and forest, with wardrobe, dresser and mirror, a private bathroom, shower and balcony. The bed is a standard double bed. A continental breakfast is available if booked on arrival and may include coffee, tea, fruit, bread, cheese, butter, and jam. Special dietary requirements can be catered for in consultation with the hosts. Guests are welcome to use the dining room adjacent to the bedroom which offers a view of the lake and additional space to relax and enjoy a drink or meal together. Use of the kitchen is available on request. A minimum of 2 nights is required per booking. A discount is offered for bookings of 1 week or more.

We invite you to stay in a double bedroom with a private balcony in our home, The Forxa in Ventosela, a refurbished farmhouse with a working blacksmith’s forge. ('Forxa' means forge in Galician). We live on-site, and separately from the rental accommodation, so we are on hand to help make your stay comfortable.

Our house is located in the village of Ventosela, just outside the town of Ribadavia in Galicia, and next to the lake reservoir of Castrelo de Miño. Boating, fishing, swimming, walking and hiking activities are available. Our area abounds with Celtic monuments and Ribeiro vineyards. Ribeiro wine is the oldest wine denomination in the world, and it is spectacular. We are located next to the Camino Miñoto Ribeiro, the oldest Roman road that starts in Braga in Portugal and winds northwards into Galicia, passing through Ribadavia and our surrounding area and on to Santiago de Compostela. This route takes you through ancient vineyards, and stunning river and mountain landscapes, and it is a beautiful way to complete the camino to Santiago de Compostela from our accommodation. We are located just 45 minutes by car from the Atlantic coast, and fantastic beaches are accessible for day trips. There is a grocery shop and several cafes within a kilometer walking from our location. The town of Ribadavia is 5 minutes away by car (40 mins walking) and offers a great selection of restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets, shops, churches, museums, a famous old Jewish quarter, a majestic castle and an enchanting riverside walk. Our local town of Ribadavia has a train and bus station with daily schedules to Ourense and Vigo. The city of Ourense is 20 minutes away by car and Vigo is 45 minutes by car. Santiago de Compostela is 60 minutes by car and we are just 30 minutes from the Portuguese border. International airports in Madrid, Santiago, Vigo and Porto are accessible by bus and rail. The international airport in Vigo is 40 minutes away, Santiago airport is 60 minutes, and Porto in Portugal is 1.45 hours.
