Welcome to Vizdom Cave Freila – a lovingly renovated cave home where simplicity meets serenity.
This unique space was carefully renovated by a multicultural world traveler who believes in slow living, authentic community connections, and the power of stillness. The cave’s natural insulation keeps it cool in summer and cozy in winter, making it a peaceful retreat for hikers, nature lovers, families, and solo explorers alike. The bathroom is built outside of the house, which seems a bit alternative but is specifically aimed to avoid odor and humidity for cave rooms and strive to provide a better comfort for the stay.
The decor is minimalistic yet warm, blending natural textures with thoughtful touches. You’ll find everything you need to relax: a fully equipped kitchen, cozy bedrooms, a spacious living area, and fast Wi-Fi to stay connected when you choose.
The property is nestled in a quiet Andalusian village with friendly neighbors and easy access to everyday essentials. Enjoy original olive oil from the local cooperative, explore hiking trails with panoramic views of the Geopark, and unwind by the lake just 45 minutes away on foot. A municipal pool is 30 minutes away, while grocery stores, banks, bars, and restaurants are all within a 2–10 minute walk.
Free parking is available on nearby streets, and friendly assistance is always close by. Whether you're traveling solo, with friends, or with your family, Vizdom Cave Freila offers a soulful space to disconnect and reconnect – with yourself, others, and nature.
Hi! I’m Nina – a lifelong traveler, environmental engineer, and lover of quiet, meaningful moments.
I’ve lived in China, Japan, Germany, US and Spain, and I’ve always dreamed of creating a space where people from all walks of life could pause, breathe, and enjoy life more simply. Vizdom Cave Freila is that dream brought to life.
I personally managed every detail of the renovation to ensure the space feels both authentic and welcoming. I love connecting with guests and sharing local tips – whether it’s the best olive oil, where to swim in summer, or how to enjoy the stars at night. I might not be always here as I am a traveler as well, and I also want to give you all the peace, quietness and privacy you want, but my friends like Maria will always be there should you need any help.
Hosting is more than a job for me – it’s a way to build bridges between cultures and share the beauty of Andalusia. Together with my friends, we speak English, Spanish, Chinese, German, Japanese, French and Russian, and we are happy to help you feel at home here.
Freila is a hidden gem in Granada province – a peaceful hilltop village full of charm, history, and warm-hearted locals.
Guests love the friendly vibe here: the morning greetings from neighbors, the quiet streets lined with whitewashed homes, and the slow rhythm of Andalusian village life. You’re just a short walk away from local bars, a bakery, a small supermarket, and even a playground for children.
The stunning Negratín Lake is a 45-minute walk or a short drive away – perfect for swimming, picnics, or just soaking in nature. The nearby municipal pool (30 minutes on foot) is great in summer, while the Gorafe desert and Baza city (20 minutes by car) offer culture, food, and local flair. And don’t miss the thermal baths of Zújar, a favorite among locals!
Vizdom Cave Freila gives you access to it all – peaceful mornings, authentic experiences, and the freedom to explore southern Spain at your own pace.
