Saariselän Kuukkeli is a family-owned company that has been operating for 40 years. We have been accommodating travelers visiting Saariselkä for 20 years. Most of our properties are located in and around the center of Saariselkä, but we also have accommodation options elsewhere in Lapland, including Ivalo, Inari, Vuotso, and Sodankylä. We offer accommodation in every price category. What attracts customers to our properties is their uniqueness—each location is one of a kind, regardless of price. Our signature feature is our log cabins made of kelo wood. These kelo houses provide an authentic atmosphere, but without feeling outdated, as they are well-furnished and fully equipped. Kuukkeli is a brand with a vision to fulfill all the wishes and needs of our guests. In addition to accommodation, we also operate "Kuukkeli Shopping Center" in Saariselkä. This shopping center is the gem of Saariselkä. Within our shopping center, you will find our new elegant restaurant, Bistro & Cafe Kuukkeli, a gift shop called Kuukkeli Shop, an outdoor equipment and clothing store named Kesport, our accommodation reception, the rental service Kuukkeli Rental Shop, an activity sales office, luggage storage and transport service Taxi Kuukkeli. Additionally, we house Saariselkä's only grocery store, K-Market Saariselkä. With everything under one roof, you’ll find everything you need for your holiday! We offer a wide range of activities, including northern lights hunting, cycling tours, snowshoeing adventures, and an entirely new concept called the Sauna World. This unique experience, inspired by a beloved Finnish tradition, grants you access to a sauna house featuring two large electric saunas, each with separate dressing rooms and wash facilities, a spacious indoor heated swimming pool, and a cozy lounge area with a fireplace. On the back terrace, you’ll find the legendary smoke sauna, a heated hot tub, and a refreshing cold plunge pool.

Kuukkeli Log Houses Villa Aurora gottage is also called Pupula( = Bunny´s nest) and its built from old pine wood logs but comfortably furnished and modernly equipped. Destination is located in the heart of the nature, on the shore of a small natural pond. In addition of two bedrooms, the cottage has an open kitchen and dining area, living room with fireplace, sauna and bathroom.. Gottage's location close to the Lappish nature feels like you are in peaceful hideaway and far from everyday life. There is also a separate small building in the yard, with a traditionally wood-heated sauna. This sauna is available for use only in summer time. But traditionally heated sauna and a dip in the cool water of natural pond are quite an unique experience in any Saariselkä destinations. By the bond is also a large deck with an outdoor furniture and by the gottage is another outdoor terrace with electric barbeque grill. The distance to the Saariselkä center is only approx. 2,2 km 4 min by car. As the cottage is not along of public transport routes, in the winter you can heat your car with the help of an external electric plug. Smoking indoors is prohibited. Pets are not allowed in this accommodation. Breakfast is served at Bistro & Cafe Kuukkeli from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Saariseläntie 1, Kuukkeli Shopping Center. In Saariselkä area, all the destinations have reception and accommodation keys pick up/return located in Shopping Center Kuukkeli, at Saariseläntie 1, 99830 Inari. The office is open Mon-Sun from 9 AM to 9 PM. Check-in is possible after 9:00 PM.
