Welcome to Terra Ultima, your vacation home in Rovaniemi! The house is the perfect place to stay near the city center, where you can see the northern lights and take photos! The house (120 m2 living area) is situated a little way outside the city center in a nice quiet residential area with garden and near the forest. The house has the - typical Finnish style - open plan - large living room with kitchen, dining area, and Finnish “takka” a fireplace in the center of the main room and an under-floor heating system. There are 2 bedrooms, a shower room, sauna, guest toilet and utility room. Guests can sleep in double beds in each of the 2 bed rooms and there are 2 sofa beds in the living room. On request 1 extra sofa bed can be used in one of the bed rooms and 1 baby cot can be added when needed. In the house you can use smart TV, SAT-TV, WLAN throughout the house. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee machine, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stove and oven, toaster and all the plates and cooking utensils you find in a normal kitchen. For your security there are smoke detectors and one carbon monoxide detector installed, first aid kit, and 2 fire extinguishers are provided.

I lived in the this typical Scandinavian house that was built in 2006, for nine years. Since 2017 I have been working mainly in Germany and live in Rovaniemi only for a few weeks or months during the year. So, I decided to share the experience of living in a typical Finnish house and rent out the house during the months I do not live there. I like the silence, the calm of the area, and enjoy staying at my "old" home. It is, for me, an oasis of peace and freedom. I hope you will enjoy, like me, the beautiful silence of nature and the peace and quiet that surrounds the house. Good to know The house is near the forest (circa 200 m) six (6) km from the center of Rovaniemi, fifteen (15) km from the airport and fifteen (15) km from Santa Clause Village. The Ounasvaara Outdoor and Ski Resort is only 3 km from the house. The bus stop is just 800m from the house. The next supermarkets are each 2 km from the house. Restaurants near to the house are Lapland Hotel Sky Ounasvaara Panorama Restaurant circa 3 km and Nili Restaurant circa 5 km from the house. In the city center you find also many different places to enjoy typical Finnish and Lappish food. The main hospital of Lapland is situated approximately 3 km from the house, the next pharmacy circa 4,5 km. There is a shuttle (airport taxi) from the airport. Rovaniemi is a large city with only few inhabitants. Rovaniemi only has approximately 7 inhabitants per square km. In the city center the density a bit higher ;), but you find areas in Rovaniemi were neighbors live quite far apart. I recommend to my guests, if they arrive by airplane, and they do not want to use taxis, to rent a car during your stay in Rovaniemi.
