The house is one in a block of 3 built in the grounds of a charming small Château. The 3 houses share a gated car park, a garden with BBQ area and share a 10m long pool, usually open & warm enough to swim May to early October. The house is set back from the road giving seclusion and calm, with it’s own private patio at the front overlooking the pool & another at the back, so you can chase the sun or shade. The house was refurbished in 2022, with new furniture including new comfy IKEA memory foam topped mattresses & a new sofa bed. The house is not suitable for children under 6y. Downstairs is open plan & equipped with air conditioning, upstairs there are fans provided if they are needed. For winter visits the house is equipped with electric wall heaters, and the air conditioning is also a heater. The house has free WiFi. Downstairs there is a spacious lounge (with sofa bed) & a desk area with laptop stand, monitor & keyboard, a dining area & well equipped kitchen area with stove top, toaster oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. There is also a separate downstairs toilet. Upstairs is a double bedroom with king size bed, a second bedroom with twin beds, & a family shower room. The house is in a perfect location 100m from the facilities of the lively small town of Olonzac, the centre of the Minervois wine region. When you venture out of town you will see vineyards every way you look! You can walk out every morning to get fantastic warm pastries, bread, savouries and cakes from the bakery 100m away. And if you fancy a coffee or something stronger there are several bars, cafes & restaurants with outdoor seating 200m away.

Olonzac is known as the capital of the Minervois wine region and is a friendly small town, with great facilities. As well as the nearby bakery and cafes, it is less than 5mins walk to a medium sized Casino supermarket. There are also a surprisingly varied selection of shops including 2 other bakeries, 2 plant shops, a small town centre supermarket, an organic food shop, a bank, a cash point, a postoffice, a hairdressers, opticians, a butchers and a pharmacy, There is a municipal park with childrens’ playground, and tennis courts (booking may be needed). The house is also 200m from the lively and popular market on Tuesday mornings which has hot food, many grocery stalls with cheese, charcuterie, local pomegranate juice, fruit and veg, bakery items, also knickknacks, clothes and gifts. Olonzac is a 40min drive from Carcassonne airport, and an easy 1h25 drive from Montpelier airport and 1h35 from Toulouse airport. It is a 30min drive from the amazing medieval town of Carcassone and another 5mins to the main town with a lovely range of shops, restaurants and bars, a covered food market and a weekly street market. It is only 3km from Homps and its lively marina on the Canal du Midi, and 3.5km from Lac de Jouarres, a popular lake with water sports.
