This is a beautiful house in the centre of a medieval town. It can sleep up to 5 however, can be easily enjoyed by two or three people. The house is very ancient, but has been carefully decorated and refurbished, retaining much of the older character of a medieval Town house, but with all modern amenities. It is near all local amenities in this lovely small town. There is good walking in the surrounding country side, canoeing on the river, all accessible on foot. Good local shops, bars and restaurants, again all within walking distance. Great views from the back of the house over the top of the town to the stunning Roc d'Anglar, part of the Aveyron Gorge. Fabulous Sunday morning market.
I have lived in the town for two years now, have first come here around 10 years ago when I fell in love with it and felt it was home. I worked in Bristol in the charitable sector for many years and wanted a complete change, and have really enjoyed the hard work that is involved in renovating old french houses.
St Antonin is a fascinating little town in itself with lots of small streets and medieval buildings and artifacts, there are leisure opportunities with canoeing, walking, swimming and cycling. There are other medieval towns near to st Antonin with chateaux and castles perched on limestone rocks. It has a fascinating history that can be explored through these places. Larger towns near by include Montaubon and Albi each with their own ancient and beautiful areas to explore.
