This village chateau is hidden inside a Walled Garden, in the medieval village of Chalabre, in an area of fascinating history and oustanding natural beauty. The village has a lively art and music scene during the summer. The accommodation in this house is vast, all rooms are individually styled. The house is ideal for a group of up to 10 people with a great kitchen to prepare and share meals, and yet enough space to retreat and relax. Marcel Proust is said to have visited many times, Goustav Eiffel designed a staircase by the orangery (which was sold off unfortunately in the 80s). The garden has hammocks and lounge chairs and a few shy, older house cats. It is a perfect base from which to explore this rich and fanstastic region, one of France's best kept secrets. House Rules: - Check-in time is 4pm and check-out is 11am. - Smoking is not allowed inside the house. - Pets are not allowed at the property. - The house is not suitable for children under 10 although babies would be fine - We welcome event organisers for calm retreat-style groups.
