As a historic home currently being restored, Château de Gudanes offers guests a stay that is elegant yet rustic, where the authentic patina of the château remains. This is a living heritage site—full of atmosphere, character, and quiet charm. However, please be reassured that no restoration works take place during guest stays, ensuring a calm and uninterrupted experience. Château de Gudanes offers a unique opportunity to stay within a historic restoration—serene, soulful, and deeply connected to its landscape and past. Guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens and walking paths throughout the property during spring and summer, as well as several terraces perfect for sitting and relaxing in the warmer months. A swimming pool is available for guest use during the warmer seasons. Please note that the pool is unheated. The property also features a tennis court, with rackets and balls provided for both tennis and pickleball. We share the château with a few animals who live onsite—a dog, cats, and chickens—who are much-loved members of the family. We kindly ask guests to be respectful of them. For this reason, outside pets are not permitted. Guests are welcome to use the shared fridge, kitchen, and laundry facilities during designated hours. Please kindly ensure the kitchen and sitting room are cleaned and tidied after use for the comfort of all. On the ground floor, there is a dedicated room with tea and coffee making facilities and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. This is included in your stay. Also on the ground floor, there is a comfortable shared sitting room for all guests to enjoy with chairs, lounges, and a writing desk, as well as board games and jigsaw puzzles for relaxed evenings. Quiet hours are observed from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM, preserving the peaceful atmosphere of the château. A light, seasonal breakfast is included, with produce from the garden used whenever possible. Please note that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. For the warmer months, fans are available upon request. For comfort during cooler months, electric blankets and radiators are provided.
