The stately house was built in 1867 and has been inhabited by a French family all these years, the last years used as a holiday home because of its beautiful and quiet location, on a beautiful park with old trees of 7 hectares. As you drive up the driveway and have parked your car in the car park, you will already perceive the special fine atmosphere that surrounds the chateau, where you can completely unwind and start enjoying pleasant hospitality in the spacious and well-kept stylish guest rooms, each equipped with a modern en suite bathroom renovated in 2022. From each room, you also have spectacular views over the typical French countryside in the beautiful Auvergne region. Throughout, the chateau exudes the authentic French atmosphere one would expect and this has been carried out down to the last detail. You will feel like a lord or lady for a moment as you stroll around the estate or have a delicious apero with a cheeseboard in one of the many cosy seating areas. Your hosts are Pieter and Elise Mink. They have been married for 30 years and have always enjoyed their holidays in Burgundy and Auvergne where, in 2020, they had the opportunity to buy le grand lucay and fulfil their dreams of living and working in France. Elise works as a beautician/masseur and hypnotherapist in her own practice and has also worked as a hostess for several years in a beauty institute and in hospitality and retail. She also runs multi-day retreats at Lucay on the theme of self-development(hypnotherapy) and relaxation (holistic massages) and Yoga. Pieter is an ICT specialist with his own business and highly skilled in DIY Together they love to welcome guests to share this beautiful place with them and to do Lucay justice as a lovely and above all atmospheric and cosy family home.
