Located in the Anjou wine region, this rustic 80m2 cottage equipped with all modern amenities is part of an old winegrowers property called Closerie Les Roches. Closerie Les Roches is a 19th century local winemaker's 'domaine' and consists of a manor house and its barns and outbuildings, set within three acres of landscaped grounds. This particular cottage is one of three gîtes on the property and was originally an old barn that we have converted into a holiday home preserving as much of the old world charm as possible. It's a place where you can come stay in a peaceful countryside location and have a relaxing holiday. This cottage can be rented together with Le Cerisier for a larger group of guests. They are connected with doors in between making it ideal for larger families looking for one big space for their holidays. When not needed, the soundproof door can be kept closed to ensure privacy on both sides. We also offer dinner for our guests twice a week and run culinary workshops regularly in our kitchen. Originally from Holland and India, we have lived in Ireland, California and Paris and love to travel the world. After working for over a decade in big tech, we decided to make a life change in 2019. We bought a nineteenth-century wine grower's property in the Loire Valley Anjou region and have renovated the barns into new holiday cottages.

We are close to all conveniences and charming villages and towns such as Montreuil-Bellay and Saumur. Visit local wineries, explore famous Loire valley castles, visit the award-winning Doué-la-Fontaine zoo or just stroll among the vines right outside the property.
