This exclusive site is deep within the 23,000-hectare Double Forest, made up of a 1.5-hectare fishing lake in 15 hectares of private woodland. The owners only ever let to one group at a time so privacy is assured and guests are able to fully enjoy the peace and seclusion. The cabin sleeps two, additional guests are accommodated in either traditional bell tents ( summer) or modern tents in the cold weather. The property is dog-friendly and there is plenty of room to exercise your pet. The lake in contrast to the area is well populated and the woodland is home to a variety of wildlife. The fishing is good, the lake being home to crucian, mirror and common carp; rudd, roach, black bass and lots of terrapins ! The woods provide a fantastic venue for all childhood pursuits - den making, hide and seek on a grand scale, laser quest and just walking and enjoying the absolute solitude.
Saint Vincent -Jalmoutier is only 2.5 KM away, this peaceful village has a wonderful picnic area on the banks of La Rizonne and a shop and cafe open 6 days a week. The nearest town of Saint Aulaye is 7 KM from the property. Saint Aulaye boasts an inland river beach which with its safe river swimming and lovely snack bars is an excellent place to spend a summer afternoon. Adjacent to the beach is a swimming pool and tree top adventure park, which is particularly good fun for teenagers and the young at heart. The high street is home to quality bakers and butchers and two good restaurants. The area is extremely rural and heavily forested. On your first night here you will feel like you have stepped back in time. Light, noise and traffic pollution become a thing of the past, the only sounds being water flowing into the lake and that of the animals and birds inhabiting the forest. This venue will not suit everyone, it is remote and completely off grid. Think glamping meets drive and survive !However if you're after some quality family time away from modern distractions, real privacy and have a passion for wildlife and wild fishing this could be the venue for you !
