La Ribière has been our family home since 2017. Having enjoyed successful corporate careers and running our own brand agency for 15 years, our young children became our first priority. From the moment we saw La Ribière we fell in love with it. And everyone who visits comments on its natural beauty and serenity. Already one of the top carp fishing venues in France, we believe that La Ribière has so much more to offer. So Ribière Retreat has been created with other guests in mind - those who want to get away from it all and simply relax in beautiful surroundings with great facilities.

Located in the heart of the French countryside, Ribière Retreat is our family home and we've tried to create the perfect place for our guests to unwind and get away from it all. We have a range of accommodation based in our renovated barns that date from as early as 1691 and our purpose-built wooden chalet. Make the most of our 40 hectare estate on a woodland walk and encounter the wide variety of Ribière wildlife, take a dip in our outdoor heated salt-water swimming pool or relax in a steaming sauna. For the more adventurous there's plenty to do and explore close by including hiking trails, go-karting, horse-riding and historic sites. Do as little or as much as you like.

Domaine de la Ribiere is in the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin so you are surrounded by breath0taking countryside and woodland. Our nearest town (9km), Chalus, is best known as the final resting place of Richard, Couer de Lion (Richard the Lionheart) and you can visit Château de Châlus-Chabrol where he took his last breath or follow the route Richard Coeur de Lion. Limoges (25km) is world-renowned for its beautiful porcelain. It also has some stunning architecture, fantastic restaurants, riverside walks and impressive art galleries. We are only 10 minutes' drive away from the Dordogne region full of scenic villages and towns as well as culinary delights. For family fun, we have the fantastic Espace Hermeline, a short car journey away in Bussiere Galant. A leisure lake with a small beach, tree-top high ropes, velorail, zip wire and crazy golf are just some of the activities on offer. For those who love speed, we have go-karting 2 minutes' up the road. And finally, for a more reflective visit, we recommend going to Oradour-sur-Glane, known as the martyr village, forever remembered for the horrific events there on 10 June 1944.
