Restaurants in the area boast local produce, cooked to the highest standard. The area is famous for duck and lamb production. Goat cheese “cabecou” are a specialty of the area. Walnuts, saffron, melons and honey are all produced locally. Local produce markets are held in every town and village throughout the year.

The Market towns of Gourdon, Salviac and Labastide-Murat are close by. Locally and within easy reach are the rivers Lot and Dordogne with their boat trips, rafting and canoeing facilities. There are many fascinating sites to visit. The world renowned Pech Merle (14k) cave system containing over 500 cave paintings and spectacular limestone formations. Rocamadour (12k) the second most visited place in France, is simply breathtaking, the Monastery and ancient dwellings clinging to the cliff face. Both are a short drive away. Other places within 30 min drive include the walled city of Cahors with the unique Pont de Valentré, the Bastide town of Domme, the village of St. Cirq Lapopie 'favourite village of the French - 2014') sitting high above the river Lot and the Rose Labyrinth and water gardens at Figeac which itself has it's ancient walkways. Distances The Market town of Gourdon is approx 10 mins by car. It has banking, shops, supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants. The villages of Le Vigan and St Germain du Bel Air are approx 5 mins by car. They both have a bank, Post Office, pharmacy, small shops and restaurants.
