La Boulangerie, as its name suggests, was the bakery of the old farmhouse. La Boulangerie consists of a well equipped dining kitchen, modern shower room with large walk in shower, and a bedroom/ sitting area, featuring the old bread oven. The gite is sympathetically decorated to retain the charm of the old French building, combined with modern amenities. Outside you have a front terrace with views of the front garden, plus a private patio area at the back accessed through the kitchen. There is a dining area and barbecue facilities with views of the back garden and pool. There are also sun loungers in the garden and around the pool, plus areas to relax and enjoy a glass or two of wine! The garden is also lit at night so that you can enjoy the warm evenings. On arrival you will receive a welcome hamper with a few necessities to get your holiday off to a great start, including fresh free range eggs laid by our hens. Faux is a beautiful village with a small shop, post office and of course our very own bakery. We also have a very beautiful church built in 1856, designed by the same architect as the Sacré Coeur in Paris.

I am Dani, and I have lived in Faux, France for just over a year with my husband and 2 children. We live in the farmhouse adjoining the bakery. We enjoy the countryside and peacefulness of the area as well as the food and wine. We have 2 cats that generally keep themselves to themselves. Also we have 5 hens that we rescued, and they roam around the garden, you are quite welcome to as many eggs as you can eat!

The gite is perfectly placed to explore the Dordogne. We are 8 minutes from the historic bastide town of Issigeac, with many bars, restaurants and shops and a fantastic market every Sunday. The famous bastide of Eymet is only 30 mins drive and is well worth a visit. Bergerac town is also 30 mins away with many activities including boat trips along the Dordogne river and the quaint old town to roam around. There are many neighbouring towns and villages including Villeréal, Beaumont - en -Perigord and Castillonnès all with their own market and attractions. We are also surrounded by beautiful vineyards and their chateaux, including the famous Chateau de Monbazillac, so plenty of opportunity for wine tasting.
