Ancien Legionnaire! 16 years military service and 30 years as a security consultant in the Oil and gas industry. I bought La Charentaise des Lilas in 2017, to refurbish, and reopen the house as a bed and breakfast. After a lot of extremely hard, and at times frustrating work, the house is finally finished, I have retired from my job abroad and am delighted to welcome guests to La Charentaise des Lilas.

Neighbourhood information

The village of St Leger is on the Route of the pilgrims, (Chemin de st Jaques de Compostelle) There are fabulous walking and cycling routes surrounding the house. Le Rustica restaurant is just a five minute walk from the house and the food is absolutely fantastic. The restaurant offer special menus for guests staying at Lilas (on reservation only). Ile de oleron and Royan are 40 minutes away and well worth a visit. La Rochelle and Bordeaux are 1hr away. Fishing, Kitesurfing, horse riding, wine tasting are all available locally.
