As seen on Channel 4's Chateau DIY & Escape to the Chateau DIY programs Chateau La Grande Maison is situated a few miles south of Saumur and the Loire valley between the market towns of Thouars and Loudun. Only a four hour drive from the port of Dieppe or under one hour from Tours & Poitiers airports. La Grande Maison is situated in three acres of wooded grounds on the river Dive with easy access to Center Parcs, Puy du Fou, Futurescope and the famous wine regions of the Loire Valley.
Chateau La Grande Maison was built in 1850 although there are parts that date back to 1750. We have 5 suites varying from 1 to 3 bedrooms per suite and can accommodate up to 20 people.
We have a large 60sq M Ballroom ideal for weddings or events as well as other function spaces.
The property was the seat of the Count and Countess de St Laon and has an amazing history that we would be delighted to share with you.

Neighbourhood information
We are perfectly positioned to enjoy Puy du Fou, Centre Parcs, Futuroscope and the wines and chateaux of the Loire Valley . We are between two lovely market towns and have many good restaurants near by. There are great cycling or walking routes and we have 3 acres of grounds with a river for fishing or swimming.
