The house of Léontine is a house built in 1820, on the remains of a fortified village whose first dwellings date from the year 900. It is a typical house of the villages of the Minervois, with its exposed beams and stones and its wide walls to protect from the summer heat. Built on 3 levels, this very comfortable residence has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an equipped kitchen, a living room and 2 toilets. The decoration is cozy and of Provençal influence. There is a parking space just in front of the entrance to the house.
My family, originally from the region, settled in La Livinière in the Middle Ages. She cultivated the vines for 5 generations. I remain faithful to my region, which I love more than anything, and I am happy to help people discover all of its marvels: from prestigious vineyards to historical and cultural sites, including hikes in breathtaking landscapes. La Livinière is close to many historical and cultural sites: Canal du Midi, City of Carcassonne, City of Minerva, Dolmens, Cathar castles, caves and chasm of Cabrespine, Narbo Via museum in Narbonne... Swimming and water sports: Lac de Jouarres 10 minutes away, Lac de la Cavayère 35 minutes away, Gruissan and Narbonne Plage beaches 40 minutes away.
The origin of the village is very old. Very early on, she was linked to the vine. Indeed, Cicero quoted it in 74 BC under the Latin name of Cella Vinaria, which means “wine cellar”. La Livinière was a town fortified with ramparts. Until the period of the Crusades against the Cathars, the village belonged to the “De la Livinière” family, vassals of the Trencavels, viscounts of Narbonne. In 1210, Pierre de La Livinière was dispossessed of his land by Simon de Montfort. Our village has all the local shops (grocery store, bakery, café, restaurant, post office, pharmacy) and even has a farmers' and craftsmen's market every other Thursday. Four walking trails leave from the post office (such as the Chemin du Cade where you can discover a cade over 800 years old, and the Chemin des Oliviers), to discover the scrubland, the vineyards and the olive groves. The Saint Etienne church and the Basilica of Notre Dame du Spasme are also unmissable places.
