Company information

In 2007, with a passion for travel and adventure, I arrived from Australia and purchased Le Belvedere, offering authentic French boutique accommodation to friends, family, and guests from all around the world. I came to France looking for a place we could enjoy in both the summer and the winter—a space that offered a slower pace, mountain air, and a connection to nature. I wasn’t sure what I would find, but when I first walked through the gates of Le Belvedere, I knew I had found something rare and beautiful. I fell in love instantly. The previous owners introduced me to an architect couple specialising in château renovations in Bordeaux. Their advice, which has stayed with me, was to approach Le Belvedere gently—to honour its soul and allow its heritage to guide any changes. I took their words to heart. The house has since been lovingly maintained, with thoughtful updates that enhance comfort while preserving the original character that makes it so special. There is something truly magical about this place. Guests tell me time and again how instantly at ease they feel, as though the house wraps itself around them and says, “you’re safe, slow down, stay a while.” Whether it’s the golden light at sunset, the scent of wildflowers on the breeze, or the creak of the old staircase underfoot, Le Belvedere has a way of capturing hearts. Le Belvedere is wonderfully comfortable—a home where you can truly pause, breathe deeply, and absorb the beauty and rhythm of this special region. It invites you to slow down, reconnect, and simply be present. The village itself is peaceful and untouched, where life moves gently and the locals welcome you with warmth and kindness. Being the caretaker of this home is a privilege—one that fills me with gratitude every day. It’s an honour to share this house, this land, and this way of life with those who come to experience it.

Property information

Perfect for families, groups, or a romantic escape, Le Belvedere is a beautiful private home you can truly make your own during your stay. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel wrapped in a sense of calm and timeless beauty. This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to connect, unwind, and create lifelong memories. Furnished in traditional French country style, Le Belvedere reflects the warmth and character of its surroundings. The ambiance mirrors the location—elegant yet unpretentious, welcoming and intimate. Whether you’re reading by the fireplace, enjoying a family meal in the dining room, or waking to the sound of birdsong, you’ll feel at home. Step outside to panoramic views of the Haute-Pyrénées, a region known for its spectacular natural beauty and deeply rooted heritage. From the majestic peaks to the rolling valleys, this area remains one of Europe’s most unspoiled landscapes—cherished by locals for its authenticity and simplicity. The ever-changing light on the mountains will captivate you, from golden sunrises to deep violet dusks. Enjoy delicious meals, from elegant candlelit dinners to relaxed barbecues on the front terrace. Savour the local cuisine—fresh, seasonal produce crafted into hearty mountain dishes that nourish both body and soul. Adventure is never far. Take a gentle stroll or picnic in the sun-drenched Pyrenean countryside, or explore the many outdoor activities the region offers: hiking, skiing, canyoning, cycling, rafting, or riding through alpine trails. Whether you seek peace or excitement, the mountains welcome you. Our favourite feature of our house and land is that the village of Salles has a particularly rich natural heritage, thanks to an environment that has remained very well preserved ... a small "sanctuary", a precious place which has preserved its authentic pastoral character, offering to the true lovers of nature all the pleasures offered by a space still wild...

Neighbourhood information

The property is perfectly positioned to take full advantage of the breathtaking natural beauty and cultural richness of the Haute-Pyrénées. Located close to 5 premier ski stations—including La Mongie, Super Barèges, Cauterets, Gavarnie, & Hautacam—Le Belvedere offers easy access to exhilarating winter sports and alpine adventures. Whether you're carving down snow-covered slopes, snowshoeing through silent forests, or sipping hot chocolate by the fire, winter here is nothing short of magical. In the warmer months, the region comes alive in a different way. Verdant meadows, wildflower-strewn trails, and high-altitude lakes invite exploration. Le Belvedere becomes the perfect base for discovering the lush valleys, craggy peaks, and cascading waterfalls that define this untamed part of the world. Within a short drive, you can find yourself walking ancient pilgrimage routes, navigating thrilling white-water rapids, or cycling the same legendary climbs as the Tour de France. The Pyrenees remain one of the last truly wild and unspoilt wilderness areas in Europe. Straddling the border between France and Spain, they offer a sanctuary for wildlife and a retreat for those seeking authenticity, peace, and reconnection with nature. Activities abound—rafting, canyoning, hiking, trekking, horseriding, paragliding and even thermal bathing in natural hot springs. This is where man has found his place in harmony with the landscape: random paths through which to discover the many barns that adorn this landscape and further accent the charm of the place and we will take in the scenery, smells and warmth of this beautiful space. Wander these age-old paths and you’ll pass shepherds’ huts, ancient stone walls and fields that have been farmed the same way for generations. The scent of pine and wild herbs fills the air and the gentle sound of streams accompanies your journey. It’s not just a visit—it’s a chance to be part of something enduring and deeply rooted in the rhythms of nature.
