Our little orchard gîte is the perfect relaxing getaway for two adults (and an infant) as a fully functional escape from reality or a pitstop on your journey through France. In summer, our 220+ year old guesthouse is cool and in the winter it is cosy with the log fire burning. Amenities: • King Size Bed (bedding provided) • Kitchen with Hob and Utensils, pots & pans etc. • Bathroom with large shower and heated towel rail (towels provided) • Direct (shared) access to a 10x5m Swimming pool (in season) • Large gîte garden & orchard for you to relax in • Private Terrace with table and chairs. Feel free to contact us by phone or email, or come and knock on our door if you need anything. We live behind the Gîte and are with in easy reach. If we are not in an alternative contact detail will be given to you.
Working in rural France as a naturalist teaching people about trees and plants, historical countryside skills, foraging, and fishing. My family and I live in the cottage behind the gîte, we are 12 chickens, 3 ducks, Amelia 6, Isabelle 2, Claire & Tom We have our own space separate from the gîte, but you're welcome to interact with us as much or as little as you like. 😀
The village of Bonnes is a traditional farming village steeped in history. It has an artisan boulangerie (bakery), a restaurant/bar and a small weekly market. We’re right on the river so you can enjoy wild swimming, canoeing, fishing and walks. Locally there are many historical villages and small towns where you’ll find supermarkets, restaurants and all amenities. We look forward to welcoming you. There is no public transport, there are taxis but they are expensive. The best way is to drive, walk, canoe or bike your way around. Private parking is avaliable for guests and free on street parking throughout the village. Nearest airports are Bordeaux and Bergerac (approx 1 hour 20 min drive).
