A detached house with the interiors designed by Bridget. We operate a self check in system the details of which will be emailed to you the day before your stay in the house. The owners are always available by telephone and email during your stay. The house sleeps 6 people in three the bedrooms (one with ensuite bathroom). The house benefits from a beautiful, private sun terrace for outdoor dining in the spring and the summer. The house is in a central location for the Cathedral, the Castle, Lincoln and Bishop Grossteste Universities, Lincoln County Hospital and local employers. There are an abundance of independent shops and stores for shopping nearby and cafes, restaurants and pubs to enjoy on the doorstep. The Lincoln showground is only 3 miles away. Due to our central city location residential car parking is not available but is adjacent to the house. However, there are several car parks nearby and our nearest and cheapest are the City of Lincoln Council Motherby Lane and Flaxengate. We provide one 24-hour (1 day permit) for your stay at St Martins and for use in these Council car parks. Also, several local roads allow permit parking for a limited period (2 hours) during the week. The controlled parking hours are 8am-6pm, Monday-Saturday, but parking is not controlled on a Sunday.
Christine and Bridget met when they did their nurse training in Lincolnshire and have since become long term friends. They both continued in their professional roles within the health service. Bridget subsequently went on to follow her passion to renovate houses. 16 St Martins was purchased and renovated in 2021, since then we have experienced a year hosting guests with five star reviews. We enjoy communicating with our guests, making their stay memorable and we listen to their feedback to improve the house for guests.
The house is within minutes of the Bailgate and uphill Lincoln are some of the most historically significant areas in the city of Lincoln, right by the heart of the spectacular Cathedral Quarter. Explore the quirky streets featuring unique independent boutiques, antique shops, art galleries and luxury gifts. There are beautiful timber framed buildings and Roman architectural remains. There are regular artist's and farmer's markets in the Castle Square. The famous Christmas market is usually held on the first weekend of December every year.
