Situated in York's most historic industrial building, Rowntree Wharf, this recently converted quality development has a fascinating past and retains original features and brickwork. Quiet and peaceful, yet only five minutes from the city centre, you can combine 'loft'-style living with sophistication - and with an allocated, secure parking space as well. So rare in the city centre. The modern kitchen area with high-end appliances features a stylish quartz worktop and a luxurious tiled floor. Dine on a glass-topped bistro table for four, or relax in the comfy living area in front of an LCD TV. The two double ensuite rooms have super-comfy Silent Night mattresses and are light, airy and furnished to a very high standard. The shower rooms are fully tiled. Also, free wi-fi, washer/dryer, fresh air circulation and central heating. And you get the sun all day!
Hi there, I've spent a career in leisure and hospitality and believe that it's the little touches that make a difference. Like a personal hand-written greeting, some simple treats to get you going rather than having to search for a shop as soon as you land, and an absolute commitment to cleanliness, comfort and getting a good night's sleep! I have three grown-up daughters and four grandchildren but, in my defence, I started young... I love spending time with my children (and their children), live music, food, travel, keeping active and Match Of The Day.
Guests LOVE being in such a quiet and peaceful location and remark on how they find themselves only several minutes from the city centre. Situated on the River Foss, York's 'other' river, hosting barge traffic to Rowntree Wharf, and also paper for the nearby Yorkshire Evening Press. It even has it's own preservation society which maintains the river bank and towpaths. Most of York's leading independent bars, restaurants and delicatessens are situated in nearby Fossgate, yet it retains an old-world charm refreshingly free of 'chain' operators. The area is deceptively quiet yet only 5 minutes from the city centre. Major supermarkets Waitrose and Morrison's are within easy walking distance, as are the city walls which can be joined at several nearby points.
