Newquay, home of the UK’s surf scene, boasts three beaches and the National Surf Centre, is a water sports paradise. The town with its zoo, sea life centre and selection of restaurants and pubs, promises a holiday to remember. For walkers, the South West Coast Path runs along a coastline of cliffs, coves and beaches. The harbour and fishing village of Padstow is 14 miles away, while Truro, with its museums, cathedral, restaurants and cobbled streets, as well as the Eden Project, can be reached within 45 minutes. St Ives and the Tate Gallery is also nearby. Nothing in Cornwall is far from Newquay, a perfect touring base.
