The flat was beautifully full of interesting things, well equipped and very comfortable. It felt like staying at a friend's house. When I accidentally left my book in this place full of books, the very kind owner posted it to me.

A comfortable, charming hideaway made even better with flowers, wine, sweet treats, and, best of all, a cream tea. All facilities are great, comfortable bed, hot shower and many books to peruse.

Welcoming, cosy apartment with loads of character (and books!). All the essentials (including a cream tea) were provided for our arrival.

This quirky apartment was exceptional, full of books, colour, and a calming atmosphere. A view over the old town, private and not overlooked. It had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Merriel had an amazing eye for detail and went far...

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Curl up with a book or write your novel, in this calm, cosy oasis. Find plenty of blankets, notebooks and inspiration here. Ideal for readers, wild swimmers and those looking to simply rest and recharge. On a warm day sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and enjoy the view or cross the road and sit in the public manor grounds beneath the shade of a tree. Follow Dawlish Water and in under 15 minutes you'll be at the beach.
Welcome! I love to write, read, walk and wild swim. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to escape and unwind, this is it. You are welcome to browse my books and who knows, maybe you’ll start writing your own here. With just a few minutes walk to the beach and train station you don’t even have to drive. Dawlish has lots of independent retailers so you can walk to the shops if you fancy a break from your car. Walk just two miles along the seawall (or take the train) and you’ll come to Dawlish Warren, a national nature reserve with miles of sand and rare plants and birds. In the summer there are lots of local boat trips you can book onto such as the Dawlish to Exmouth trip.
I love swimming in the sea here and traveling by train to other beaches. The local walks are fantastic. You are close to Dartmoor, Torbay and Exeter. There is a great local bookshop and a choice of very delicious bakeries to munch your way through! The property is in the historic old part of town with many period properties and features. There is a public park across the road with plenty of benches and a river running through it.
