Situated in the east of London in an area undergoing tremendous change, Hackney Wick is a location with a rich industrial history that has now emerged as one of the most creative and dynamic communities in the capital. Home to an exciting and innovative arts scene, The Wick, as it has popularly become known has become a trendsetting area with a vibrant community of galleries, exhibition spaces and cafes, restaurants, bars and boutiques. To the west, the wider borough of Hackney is a historic and dynamic area of London with bags of personality. To the east, just over the River Lea, the Olympics Legacy project is preparing to create up to 8,000 new homes and the largest new public park in Europe for 150 years on the site of the Games. Made up of Fish Island and parts of the Olympic Park a huge amount of investment has been made in this area over the past years achieving big infrastructure and transport advances and making this more and more of a hotspot within London. Hackney Wick is a short distance from Stratford, London’s eastern transport hub and road and rail access to this area have greatly improved over recent years and will continue to improve going forward.
