LetAway is a holiday letting and management company. Created by three directors local to the North Yorkshire area and passionate about. With backgrounds in the holiday letting industry for this area, they pride themselves on excellent, personable customer service; both to holidaymakers and their holiday-let-owner clients.

Captain Cook’s Cottage is located in the heart of Staithes, down in the harbour overlooking the sea, beach and surrounding breath-taking scenery. The cottage is fully equipped and sleeps 7 people (2 doubles and 1 triple). No pets and no smoking. Self catering. There is excellent walking access to outdoor activities and local amenities with access to nearby Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors a short car ride. Local recommendations for activities, restaurants, pubs, beauty spots to visit, etc are available upon request. The cottage has a comprehensive central heating system controlled by thermostat in the living room and all rooms are perfectly insulated and decorated in a traditional style to reflect the cottage's history. There is no parking specifically allocated to the cottage due to parking being so limited and therefore just for permanent residents. Guests can park temporarily to unload but will need to park elsewhere during the stay. We recommend Glen Vale parking which can be booked online (by visiting their website) for a reasonable cost. WiFi is available and free of charge.

Staithes is a traditional fishing village famed by Captain James Cook having spent some time there working in 1745 before his career as an explorer. The village still has many local people living there with also numerous holidaymakers visiting from all corners of the UK all year round. It still has a small community of fishermen operating from the harbour in small fishing boats. It has narrow winding streets leading to various points of natural beauty viewing. Crime rates are basically non-existent and you will find that many local people and holidaymakers simply leave their front doors open although this is not advised.
