A beautifully furnished home from home, Mallard's Retreat provides a fantastic base for your holiday on the north Cumbrian coastline, within easy access of the picturesque Lake District. The spacious holiday home can comfortably accommodate four adults in two bedrooms. The first bedroom with one king sized bed, wardrobe and ensuite. The second bedroom contains two single beds and wardrobe storage. Just across the hallway, you`ll find the family bathroom with enclosed shower. If you do require additional sleeping arrangements, the accommodation also offers a double sized sofa bed in the lounge. The entrance to the holiday home, is accessed via four steps, next to two car parking spaces, leading to a raised decking area, furnished with outdoor seating overlooking the glorious views of the meadow next door. The decking area can be secured using the gate which is lockable using the latch. Access is through a standard sized single door from the decking, which leads into the feature apex entrance area, providing panoramic views of the private outside area. Directly ahead is a modern kitchen, with all the amenities you`d expect to find in a self catered accommodation (gas oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, full sized fridge freezer and an air fryer). To the left is the dining area, with place settings for four, next to the open plan lounge with smart TV. The accommodation offers free WiFi, central heating and additional electric fire on the lounge. The holiday home is only a few minutes walk from all the sites facilities and the scenic Solway Coastline, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whether you`re looking for an active, outdoor break, or a quiet retreat, the holiday home provides the perfect base for you, your family and friends.

I`m Cumbrian born and bred, having lived and worked in the area my whole life as the location really does tick every box possible! From the mountains, lakes, coastline and the beautiful historic city of Carlisle with its Cathedral and Castle, I`ve never looked to leave! I`m an artist and tutor working with students of all ages and abilities and I am constantly inspired by the beauty of the local landscape and nature.

The surrounding area is perfect for walkers and cyclists, with Glasson Moss boarded walkway right on the doorstep. For those looking to explore a little further, the site is on a local bus route, providing access to the nearby city of Carlisle. Under five miles away, you`ll find, Campfield Marsh RSPB reserve and Watchtree Nature Reserve, who also offer a variety of bikes and trikes to hire, for all ages and levels of mobility. Those looking to stay a little closer to home, can enjoy various facilities and activities that are included in the price of your stay. These include, a swimming pool and jacuzzi, gym, a multi-purpose astro-turfed sports area and large playpark. The park also has a launderette and a small shop. The on-site bar and restaurant runs an entertainment schedule over the weekends, with additional activities held over the summer holiday for adults and children. The area benefits from local pubs and restaurants, offering a range of local Cumbrian fare in the surrounding villages.
