The location was a bit further uphill than we had understood, we were able to walk down into Keswick but not to walk back up.

Read the reviews!!!! Claremont House is a 1850's coach house. We have an acre of woodland, for you to wander, where red squirrels are easily spotted and even deer come grazing!! The car park can hold 6 cars, any many guests choose to leave their car parked up and stroll the 1 mile into town. THE HOUSE - Each of our 3 rooms in the house have en suite shower facilities, tea and coffee, flat screen tvs and stunning views. Whether the views are of our woodland, the lakes, or the many mountains, you will be sure to relax in the easy chairs provided to enjoy the landscape. Start the day with fresh fruit salad. The full english breakfast comes with black pudding, Booths sausages and thick bacon, however, if you prefer a veggie, a gluten, a vegan or just a bit of porridge and a croissant we will ensure you are spoilt! THE NOOK is an Airbnb style self contained studio from our old stone laundry room. The Nook sleeps two and whilst it doesn't receive the full English, it has an abundance of breakfast foods and treats. Theres a cosy patio area with a chiminea, wooden chairs and table and subtle lighting. Theres plenty storage for wet coats and boots, and a hose pipe for bikes or really muddy folk!!
Sarah is an enthusiastic runner, hiker and cyclist. With this in mind she provides storage for bikes, packed lunches, maps and routes.... and porridge!!! Sarah studied Hospitality at University and has worked in the industry for 20 years. Recently moving her family here from Manchester she is also keen to know of new places and would love to hear all your adventures and new trails. John is a design engineer and frequently has a tape measure and a plan! The new sheds, cabin and new "Nook" all have been created with Johns expert plans and designs and input.
Keswick is lovely market town with an abundance of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops. The theme being walk hard, play hard. Most tend to head for the hills, follow up with tea and cake, head back for a catnap before meeting back up for a feed and of course a Lakeland ale!! The market is held every Thursday and Saturday and provides a wonderful variety of wares. Castlerigg stone circle is a lovely walk (only 1/1.5 miles away), the is so much to do down by the lake. The Theatre is worth a google before you plan your trip, the boat launch is a great trip around the lake, stopping off at many jettys, where you can hop on , walk to to next stop and jump on again. We love the forest walks down by the lake too. Catbells, Wallacrag, Skiddaw are all close by for the more adventurous. A bus stops outside every hour taking a circular route from Keswick to Grasmere and Ambleside, where you can visit Wordsworths grave, buy famous gingerbread and visit the many tea shops by the river.
