Company information

Eastside Farm is a working, organic hill sheep farm in the Pentland Hills Regional Park. The hills surrounding the accommodation are still farmed by the Cowan family - as they have been for five generations. We'll provide detailed instructions on how to find the Byre Cottage - and most of the time we will be there to show you into your cottage. We live across the farmyard and are on hand if you need us, but otherwise we'll not disturb your stay.

Nestled in the rugged Pentland Hills, the Byre self-catering cottage provides unique family accommodation. The surrounding hills of the Pentland Hills Regional Park offer excellent walking from your doorstep. Romantics will appreciate the incredible views and the charming picnic spots nearby. Explore Edinburgh, just a short drive away, or enjoy a picnic on the nearest hilltop, before returning to soothe your tired legs in the wood-fired, steam yurt sauna. The sauna will be available to book upon your arrival (for an additional fee).

Neighbourhood information

The Byre Cottage, situated on an organic working hill farm within the Pentland Hills Regional Park, is surrounded by hills and miles of open green space - perfect for walking or mountain biking. Edinburgh and everything that Scotland's capital city can offer is a mere 20-minute drive away. Free parking, complete with an EV charger, is provided just a 30-second walk from the accommodation. The cottage is accessed via a one-mile farm track off the main road, so we recommend using a car for your stay.
