I have asked Bcom to change this but they won’t, you can talk to us however on other platforms if you look for us! This accommodation is suitable for 2 adults and 2 children up to 16. The beds are in an OPEN PLAN LIVING/SLEEPING area, check photos for suitability. PLEASE NOTE the stairs are steep, open tread and may not be suitable for some guests please check the photos. Forest Barn is an independent building set in the hosts 2 acre garden. On the ground floor is a kitchen equipped with a combi-oven, gas hob, dishwasher and fridge. The table seats 4 plus a highchair on request. There is a shower room with unlimited hot water and central heating. Upstairs has a galleried landing within an open plan living/sleeping area comprising of a king bed, single with pull out trundle, a sofa and 2 armchairs around a TV with DVD player and Wii. Guests can use a south facing patio overlooking the garden and a west facing area on the driveway, both have seats and there is a small BBQ.

We have lived here for over 25 years and have been hosting since 2008 with many regular guests. I grew up in the new forest so I am happy to share my knowledge on making the most of the forest, beaches and tourist attractions. Couples, families, friends welcome but no parties. NO DOGS or pets and NO SMOKING/VAPING in or on grounds of the barn.

The barn is in a quiet rural area, with views over fields where deer can sometimes be spotted. The lane has a village shop, farm shop, cafe all a few minutes walk away. Bashley village also has a garden centre, 2 pubs, fishing lakes, a museum. New Milton train station is on the London Waterloo to Weymouth line it is a 10 minute taxi ride. Bournemouth and Southampton airports are approx 30/45 mins drive. It is possible to walk and cycle into the new forest visiting villages along the way or explore the sea walls bird sanctuary along the Solent from Milford to Lymington or walk out to Hurst castle. The closest beach is a 10 min drive overlooking the Isle of Wight needles, there is also mudeford quay, hengistbury head, Avon beaches. Supermarkets, restaurants and takeaways can be found in New Milton. Lymington has a vibrant Saturday morning market. Tourist attraction including Paultons park, peppa pig, Beaulieu motor museum, New forest wildlife park, Longdown activity farm, Sammy Miller motorcycles museum and many more In the area activities including golf, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, cycle hire, boat trips and it’s easy to visit the Isle of Wight for the day etc The area has many pubs, restaurants and it is 5 mins from the 5* Chewton glen hotel with spa and 15 from the “The Pig” and Limewood with renowned restaurants. The new forest hosts many events including New Forest Show, Sea food festival, “Smoked and uncut”, Marathon, Bournemouth air show, round the island boat race etc In the summer enjoy the beaches, in the summer see the forest Autumnal colours, in the winter cosy pubs and walks, spring watch everything wake up and perhaps visit the famous Exbury gardens for Azaleas and Rhododendrons. We recommend a week to explore the national park and you will still need to come back to visit other attractions like Pool Harbour, Brownsea Island, NT studland, Salisbury cathedral, stonehenge, Portsmouth docks,Maryrose,Victory all within an hours drive.
