Neighbourhood information

Bakewell is an ancient market town known as the 'Capital of the Peaks' and sits in the White Peak area of the Peak District National Park. Straddling the river Wye, this ancient town is the largest in the Peak Park. Next door is Chatsworth House the seat of the Dukes of Devonshire and the third most visited stately home in the UK. Also close by is Haddon Hall the second seat of the Dukes of Rutland and the UK's oldest fortified Tudor Manor house dating from the 12th century. These stunning houses have been made famous by TV and film dramas such as The Duchess and Pride and Prejudice and guests can take the Film Set Tour by car from Gardeners seeing all the film locations and enjoying the most dramatic scenery the UK has to offer.
