Lovely double aspect room with own front door entrance which makes this a lovely private area. The views from the room are beautiful and you can see the steam trains in summer as the railway line is only 500 metres away. As we are such a small business we only take payment in cash or by bank transfer by agreement. There is a lovely raised decking area outside your room solely for our guests use. If you are early risers there is every chance you may see deer in the fields in front of the property, The property is accessed by steps up to the house. There are handrails to help guests who may have slightly less mobility but unsuitable for wheelchair users or with severe mobility issues,
My passion is good hospitality and I really enjoy looking after our guests and making their stay with us a memorable one. Our guests tell us that the little added extras make it special at Glen View. Home made cake will be in your room to enjoy with a cuppa when you return from a day out. You will not be hungry following one of our freshly cooked breakfasts each morning. There is a wide choice available and includes plenty of choice for vegetarians too.
Just 1.5 miles from Whitby. The scenery from your bedroom looks across the valley towards the viaduct. In the summer months our guests love to see the steam trains passing a number of times a day. We are on a good bus route or you can be in Whitby in about 25 minutes if you want to walk. There is a lovely path which follows the railway line and river which takes you right in to the centre of the town. You may be passed by the steam train as it travels to or from Whitby. Taxi numbers can be found in the guest information file and are reasonably priced. The pub in the village , which id called The Bridge Inn, is right by the railway station and, when the weather permits, you can sit outside overlooking the river and railway. You are sure to get a warm welcome. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the open countryside in a location near to the town. They do a wide variety of home delicious cooked food. In spring and summer why not enjoy a row up the River Esk. There are boats and Kayaks to be hired in the village. Around 800 yards from Glen View there is a lovely restaurant called Waterside. Here you can enjoy amazing food whilst watching the wildlife.
