The lodge was absolutely beautiful, set in a peaceful environment that gave unbroken views of the countryside. All while being only a 10 minute drive from Fraserburgh. My partner and I can’t wait to return.

We've been hosting guests to our unique straw bale holiday lodges since 2021. We recently added Heron lodge which is a timber cabin and has a quirky reading nook which includes a hammock over the lounge area that two people can relax in. Our overall goal for our accommodation was to make sure we were sympathetic to the environment in the design and build phase. We used local tradesmen and suppliers wherever possible, carrying out the majority of the work ourselves and using recycled materials. We wanted to show the possibilities of using eco friendly building materials to create a comfortable living space. Our priority is the comfort of our guests, whilst promoting a reduce/reuse/recycle outlook.
We are based in a lovely and peaceful part of rural Aberdeenshire. We have beautiful sandy beaches just 10 minutes drive away. There are also some beautiful coastal walks nearby. This area is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, as we have RSPB Strathbeg wildlife reserve right on our doorstep.
