Heron's Rest is an old mill cottage set in the beautiful setting of Litton Mill in the heart of the Peak District. Recently decorated throughout in a sympathetic but modern style in keeping with the cottages many period features the property retains it's original charm providing a haven of peace and tranquility. It offers the perfect getaway from it all location in the heart of the Peak District, close to fabulous walks and within easy reach of the many visitor attractions and locations that the Peak District has to offer.
The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the Peak District with many famous attractions within a short drive, Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Buxton, Castleton to name but a few. Situated on the banks of the river Wye it is a perfect location for wildlife with herons, kingfishers and numerous other species of birds in evidence, along with rainbow and brown trout fishing, (subject to permits), it is also within minutes of the Monsal Trail so great for walking, cycling and exercising your dogs. The local pub, The Angler's Rest, (approximately 1 mile away) serves great food along with a vast array of beers and spirits with a lovely beer garden right on the river (perfect in summer).
