Cromwell Cottage is a 17th Century cottage, said to be the oldest surviving building in Fakenham. Named as it is reputed that Oliver Cromwell's troops stayed here during the English Civil War. At over 400 years old, the property is packed with character, including beams, inglenook fireplace and original oak paneling in the hallway and master bedroom. It also features several witches marks carved into the beams hundreds of years ago to ward off evil spirits. We challenge you to find them all! Cromwell cottage has now been converted into a cosy, dog-friendly holiday home, sleeping 4 +2 with all the amenities you expect for a relaxing break. Featuring Egyptian cotton linens, spa-quality towels, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and the all-important Nespresso coffee machine! The lounge has an original feature fireplace with a modern wood-burning stove. Wood, kindling and firelighters are provided. There are Smart TVs in the lounge and master bedroom. Both has access to Sky movies, entertainment and full Sky Sports package through NOW TV app. The property has 2 large bedrooms. The master bedroom on the first floor is approx 275 sqft with a king size bed. Due to the rooms large size, there are also 2 single chair beds that can be made up as singles, or as another king bed, and there is a screen to provide some privacy - perfect for children or a girls weekend! The main shower room is on this floor. The second floor is up a narrow staircase with limited head room, but opens up into a spacious room. This room has a double bed with an ensuite toilet and sink. I provide a welcome pack with all the essentials to help you get settled in, fresh milk, tea, coffee, sugar and some local biscuits! It is self check-in via a smart lock. You will be sent access codes and link to download an app 48hrs before your stay. I will be available via phone/messaging during your stay

PLEASE NOTE: The age of the property has created quirky features such as steep staircases, uneven floors and limited headroom on entering the top floor bedroom. However, this means that the property is not suitable for very young children or those with limited mobility.
