Our guest suite is the premier accommodation at our property Hill Top, where we also have a shepherd's hut and a small hillside campsite. We are located within the Lake District National Park just two miles outside of Windermere with amenities such as the Watermill Inn a well regarded pub and microbrewery serving great food, a Pret a Manger cafe, a gym and a fuel station/mini supermarket just across the road. We are on the main bus route through the Lake District for easy access to all the top tourist locations such as Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Thirlmere for Helvellyn. Malcolm is a qualified Mountain Leader so can provide advice on routes and equipment etc for hillwalking. The suite itself is a self contained hotel room-like unit with it's own external door and patio area, with a super-king bed which can be made into twin beds with advance notice. An integral part of our house, the suite has a sitting area with sofa, TV with Freesat channels, kettle and fridge-freezer for snacks and drinks. We provide a small welcome pack of tea/coffee/hot chocolate sachets, packet of biscuits and a small carton of milk. As this is not a self-catering apartment, guests usually enjoy the excellent local cafes and pubs for dining.

During the summer we run our small hillside campsite and shepherd's hut on site, as well as the guest suite so it can get busy on occasions. From late autumn through to early Spring Malcolm enjoys walking the local Wainwrights and other mountains across the UK.

Situated in the South of the Lake District National Park just two miles from Windermere village, there are a wealth of outdoor activities and stunning scenery on our doorstep. From wild swimming to walking Wainwrights , cycling scenic routes, cruising on the lakes or visiting historic properties such as Dove Cottage there is a lifetime of wonderful experiences to be had in this beautiful World Heritage location. Two Wainwrights Sour Howes and Sallows can be walked quite easily from our property, with easier walks up School Knott starting from the Watermill Inn across the road.
