Japonica Cottage is a Cotswold cottage situated in Bourton on the Water, Gloucestershire. The cottage is presented in a cosy and charming style, with spacious rooms and contemporary furnishings. Internally there is a living room with a wood burning effect electric fire, a fitted kitchen and a conservatory with a dining area. Upstairs has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom with a separate bathroom and WC. Off road parking is available. Japonica is ideal for a couple or a small family wanting a tour of the local area. Note: One well-behaved dog welcome at an additional charge of 25.00. Note: Second floor bedroom is accessed through the first floor bedroom via steep stairs, this may be unsuitable for those with limited mobility. Please note the hand rail up the stairs is a rope type rail and the stairs are a spiral style, please see images. Note: Stairs to first floor are steep which may be unsuitable for those with limited welcome at 25Note: Please note a 4pm check in time is possible on Saturdays. The usual check in time on other days is 6pm, however guests are welcome to check if earlier arrivals may be possible although this cannot be guaranteed.

The historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery. Nearby, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises traditional England.
