My house is on a quiet residential street about 2 miles from central Oxford. I keep my whole place in pristine condition and I'm very proud of it! You will have access to a king double room with hanging space, storage and overlooking my lovely garden. Clean bedding, towels, electric heater and kettle, fan and hair dryer are all provided. There is a private bathroom with shower, toilet and bathroom cabinet downstairs from the bedroom for sole guest use. Shower gel and shampoo are provided. Guests can use the kitchen to prepare their own breakfast, make sandwiches etc for lunch if going out, but please bear in mind I live in the house and work from home part of the week, so this is not fully self-catering accommodation - please don't book this room if you wish to cook all your meals! Guests may make reasonable use of the dining room, sitting room and enjoy the garden also. Parking on my road is available, albeit technically resident permits are needed from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday. I don't get very many of these from the Council, so parking during those hours is at your own risk, but traffic wardens never come down my road anyway!

I work as a lawyer in an engineering company based in South Oxfordshire. Outside work, I love to kayak, hike, cycle, play tennis, padel and cricket. I am actively involved in local charity work and some local politics also.

Within an easy walk of my place you can find the excellent local pub The White Hart, a gastro pub called The Black Boy and some local shops. Walking a little further brings you to the suburb of Headington, which has every kind of shop, restaurant and other facility you could need. There is also the lovely Bury Knowle Park, complete with tennis courts and mini golf! A bus stop 2 minutes from my house has direct services to central Oxford, with the amazing university attractions and historic centre. There are also e-scooters at the top of my road, which are a fun way to get about (you need the Voi app downloaded for this). A taxi into the city centre will cost about twelve pounds. I don't advise trying to drive into Oxford - parking is scarce and pricey! Headington has buses to just about everywhere, including the Airline services direct to and from Heathrow and Gatwick, as well as the excellent 24/7 Oxford Tube coach service to and from London.
