Just minutes from the A303 Lodge House is a peaceful relaxing place to stay. Still retaining many original features from 1760's, including a unique indoor well in the snug, it has been updated in a sympathetic manner to offer luxurious guest rooms. The views from here are amazing, the peace and tranquility are second to none, making Lodge House B&B an ideal place for a stress-relieving break, away from the hustle and bustle of busy everyday life. When our guests arrive we want them to relax, leave their troubles at the door and step into a world of home comfort and rest. As owners we intend to see that every attention is paid to detail and service. The Blue Room and the Lilac Room were part of an extensive renovation of one third of the house which was completed in April 2015. All the fixtures and fittings (apart from the antique furniture and pictures) were brand new. Due to an existing beam in the en suite shower wet room to the Blue room, there is restricted headroom, so this room would not suit someone very tall.
We escaped to the country from Slough, Berks. in Jan 2010 with the intention of running a B&B, and seeking a slower pace of life. We have 2 acres of woods and an acre and half of productive orchard, fruit bushes and vegetable beds. Kathy is a complementary therapist who offers treatments such as Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Hopi Ear Candles and Aromatherapy massage at the B&B at an extra cost, & Neil retired early from the aerospace industry . He is now a beekeeper with 3 hives, and on a good year we have our own honey to offer at breakfast. Neil also looks after the 20+ chickens that we have that lay gorgeous eggs with deep yellow yolks that we serve for breakfast.
Situated in predominantly dairy country in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Lodge House is 750 feet above sea level, with air clean and pure. We are midway between the north coast of Minehead & south coast of Lyme Regis, Seaton, Sidmouth and Charmouth with a variety of attractions nearby such as National Trust houses, the West Somerset Railway, the Seaton Tramway plus a host of other places to visit, details of which we can supply you with on your arrival.
