We are Kate and Tim, we have a crazy life, with a small holding. We have rare breed sheep, Cotswolds and Manx Loaghtans, we also have horses, chickens, turkeys and bees, and both work in our day jobs. If you come in April, you might be lucky and see some lambs being born, in the height of summer you will often see us in our bee suits, checking the bees. Skye is our working border collie, (who is actually quite useless :) ), and Willow is our rescue dog who sleeps all day, both are very friendly and gentle who you may well meet on your stay! Welcome to The Hyde, our beautiful Shepherd's hut is waiting for you, with stunning views over the countryside, you'll have deer, pheasants, hares, kites, buzzards to name a few on your doorstep. Being a working small holding you are welcome to come and see our sheep, lambs and horses, you will be greeted with fresh eggs from our chicken and honey from our bees. The Hyde is fitted with modern facilities, a BBQ area, where you can sit back and relax there are wonderful walks, and local pubs. The Hyde has a modern bathroom with shower, a kitchen area with hob, microwave, fridge with a small freezer compartment. A comfortable double bed awaits your arrival. There is a breakfast bar where you can sit and watch the wildlife whilst having your morning coffee. Wifi is available in The Hyde and we have a couple of USB charger points. We provide the basics including tea, coffee, sugar, milk.

Based in the heart of West Berkshire, Ashampstead is well situated for Reading, Oxford and Newbury, having train stations in Pangbourne, Theale as well as Goring & Streatley all in about a 10 minute drive, (we can arrange collection) London/Heathrow Airport is approx. 45 minutes away. Being close to the M4, Ascot, Windsor are easily accessible as are Newbury Racecourse and Henley Regatta. Across the boarder into South Oxfordshire villages and towns who sit on the River Thames including Wallingford, Henley and Marlow are a short drive away. There is a range of nearby amenities in Yattendon Village, including a pub, village shop, café & brewery, in Ashampstead we have a well stocked award winning farm shop, where you will find many local producers.
