We had a fabulous stay in this beautiful cottage, I wish we had been there longer. It was cosy, warm (log fire), clean, had everything we needed for cooking. The bathroom was lovely, I enjoyed a lovely bath after a day walking and wild swimming....

Mill Cottage sits in a small village in quieter West Cumbria within the Lake District National Park. A modern, cosy, space well placed to enjoy village life but close to popular sites including Muncaster Castle, Scafell, Englands highest mountain, and stunning Wastwater, the deepest lake. Miles of sand dunes on peaceful dog-friendly beaches are a mere 5 minutes away. Mill is a great base to enjoy the magic of the Lakes. Whether completing the 3 peaks challenge, wanting to conquer Scafell, bag a Wainwright or just relax for a few days, the Lake District has it all. Mill Cottage a home away from home after a day exploring. Fully equipped with all the small things provided - supplies for your first fire, toiletries, basic cooking ingredients, all kitchen/tableware, plush towels and bedding to name a few - so you can focus on making the most of your break. Those with limited mobility should be aware of our staircases - feature floating open style to the first floor and slightly steep to the attic twin. The courtyard garden fully enclosed is filled with plants, flowers and herbs which guests are welcome to use during their stay - thyme for cooking or mint for your tea. The South facing garden enjoys sun all day and has everything provided for a summer barbeque, al fresco dining or your morning coffee. Pets (2 max) considered on request and subject to a small fee. This covers tweaks to the cottage so they can be have a super stay too. Located in Gosforth village there are plenty of amenities on the doorstep including some fabulous doorstep walks with fantastic views perfect for those wanting a car free break! Being local we're able to provide a more personal friendly service, recommendations and can also help prepare the cottage for those celebrating a special occasion! Born Londoner who fell in love with the Lake District over 15 years ago! Roses at first was our holiday home until my husband & I took the plunge and moved here permanently! Still love city life & a night out with the girls, but here is my happy place. The fresh air and scenery is breath taking and Cumbrians are a friendly and super chilled bunch! I love being out on the fells, the quiet countryside & being around nature. Another passion is eating out, sampling different cuisines and introducing guests to my authentic Caribbean home cooked meals! I really enjoy helping my guests to have a memorable break and to experience the best of this amazing place!
Nestled amongst the amazing the Irish Sea, Gosforth is a small traditional Lakeland village filled with charming cottages with a well stocked village shop, yummy bakery, Italian restaurant, cafe, playing fields and swing park for the kids and, all important, village pub. Being on the edge of the Western Lakes it has a quieter vibe with less crowds but offers all the Lakeland charm with stunning landscape, lakes, forest and mountains.
