Enjoy a peaceful break in our beautifully renovated vintage caravan. Our 2 berth caravan called Molly, is permanently located on a quiet site in the small West Cumbrian village of Gilcrux, just 5 miles from the Solway coast, with its spectacular sunsets, and just a 30 minute drive from the busy market town of keswick, one of the most popular locations in the Lake District. Molly is truly a one off gem. Thoughtfully furnished to make your stay as memorable as possible. Molly has a full sized double bed, storage space. A kitchenette with 2 ring hob, kettle and toaster. Tea and coffee is provided. There is a comfy bench seat below the window so you can relax and read. A small fridge and an electric heater. Bed linen and towels are provided. There is also an awning that can be put up for you on request, and table and chairs for you to sit outside and relax. The toilet and shower facilities are a few steps away in the amenities building across the yard. You only share these with 3 other caravans!. There are also washing and drying facilities in the amenities building for a charge. There is a small onsite shop and post office and a lovely country pub across the road caled the Masons Arms that does good food thursdays through to sundays. Up to 2 dogs are welcome.
Let us introduce ourselves. Molly is run by myself (Emma) and my husband Mark. We dont live on the site but just a few miles away near Wigton. We are passionate about vintage caravans, and old buidings and love renovating. Molly is our first caravan, but there will be more to follow. Infact we already have our next project lined up! When you stay in Molly you can contact us any time via email or mobile. We are happy to help make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Gilcrux is a small picturesque village with a pretty green and ancient church. There are several fresh water springs that run through the village that add to its charm. There is a pub across the road from the site that does good food, and has a real fire, to keep you nice and toasty. There is also a fishery where you can so a spot of fly fishing, and several footpaths to explore.
Public transport is limited so a car is needed to get around. The roads are small country roads to the village.
