Hi there - We’re the Elwes family! We've lived and travelled to many places across Europe so we appreciate the joy of feeling at home in new places and love to host! Our daughter Emily, who mostly lives from Barcelona, Spain, helps us manage our listings, so if you're thinking of spending time with us you're likely to be chatting to her (she's the tech-savvy one)! Based in the countryside we love sharing our farm, yurt and house with guests. On an average day you'll catch us looking after our sheep, gardening and fixing things in the farm. We have a great love of all things creative, holistic and historical.

Welcome to Hare Cottage, our gorgeous ‘bolt hole’ nestled in the heart of the countryside. Perfect for groups and special occasions, our gorgeous little semi-detached cottage has beautiful views overlooking a nature reserve, great access to shops and all you need for a comfortable stay. Guests can book stunning walks, 2-3 hour relaxing candlelit sessions in our private spa, enjoy farmhouse breakfasts, evening meals, archery lessons and axe throwing evenings. Built in 1875, Hare Cottage is a delightful semi-detached cottage full of charm an quirks. Jam packed full of antiques and nature inspired decor, it can comfortably sleep up to 7 guests. • The Layout • Hare Cottage has 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, 1 living room (with wood-burner and 2 sofa-beds), 1 new shaker kitchen, a spacious bathroom and lovely big garden. It comes fully equipped with: Bedding & fresh towels Soaps, shampoo & bath salts Tea, coffee & biscuits Fully equipped kitchen Complimentary firewood Outdoor fire pit for BBQs Beautiful views 🐕 Hare Cottage is also dog friendly!

A short drive from a number of country parks (Normanby & Elsham Hall), historic market towns (Brigg & Barton-Upon-Humber), extensive walks (Lincolnshire Wolds & Humberside), and historic cities a little further afield (Beverly, York & Lincoln), there are no end of group friendly activities in the local area. We're more than happy to recommend a schedule. Getting around Scunthorpe train station is a 5 min drive from Hare Cottage. Taxis are available in front of the station.

Self Check-in & Reception:

This cottage has a self check-in system (we do not have a reception). For security reasons, guests must check-in online to receive self-check in access information.

Immediately after booking you will be sent an checkin link to:

- Confirm your identity & contact details.

- Pre-authorise your damage deposit payment.

- Read & sign our rental agreement.

Once this is completed, our booking system will automatically share check in details with on the day of your arrival. Don't worry - it's very simple and can be completed on your smartphone in less than 5 minutes.

Online Security Checkin:

Guests are required to share a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Both will be collected via an online checkin link, which must be completed before 4pm on the day of arrival.

We have a selection of fabulous extras that guests can book during their stay. All of our extras are delivered to your doorstep, or enjoyed on the farm.

Start time: 11am, or 2pm, 2 hours

Family friendly: Children over 5 years permitted

3 hours Includes: Our famous copper milk and flower bath treatments (like Cleopatra), 1700 litre freshwater wood fired larch tub, handmade natural cosmetic treatments, full spa kit, homemade natural soaps, face masks, scrubs, handpicked herbal teas from our walled gardens, ice bucket drench and essential oil shower, himalayan salt food baths, kimonos, flips flops and turkish cotton peshtemal towels. 3 hours of uninterrupted pampering with countryside views.

Start time: 5pm, 3 hours

→ This session is prepared by wood-fire, and takes us 7 hours to prepare for guests to use. For this reason it starts at 5pm and cannot be altered.

Family friendly: Children are not permitted to access our 'full spa session' due to safety concerns relating to the wood-fire.

Separate Beds & Linen:

1 bed will be prepared for bookings of 1-2 guests.

2 beds will be prepared for booking of 3-4 guests.
