Picaroons Bed and Breakfast is an impressive house built in classic 1930's style and situated within lovely grounds. We offer ample off-street parking and we're only a short walk into Sheringham town itself with its great shops, restaurants and pubs. That short distance ensures you can experience everything Sheringham has to offer but still enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay. It is only a 15 minute stroll to the sea and a Blue Flag beach. Since moving-in in December 2015 the B&B has undergone considerable refurbishment and we are especially proud of our three re-vamped Kingsize en-suite guest bedrooms, Lobster, Crab and Scallop. Sheringham is a bustling traditional seaside town situated on the North Norfolk coast with its dramatic coastline and stunning countryside. The area can easily be explored from our door, either on foot or by car/public transport. A short walk from Picaroons takes you to the centre of town where you'll find friendly pubs, a wide variety of restaurants and plenty of tea and coffee shops. The shops are, in the main, independently run but are supplemented by a handful of smaller branches of well know chain stores. There is a twice weekly traditional market on Wednesday's (seasonal) and Saturday's and a couple of supermarkets. Sheringham is home to the North Norfolk Railway (The Poppy Line), which operates steam train rides to Weybourne and Holt so you can experience travel as it was in bygone days. As well as its regular timetable the Poppy Line organise interesting and varied events on their trains. Sheringham Little Theatre offers a wide variety of plays, music and films throughout the year. Just four miles from Picaroons, Kelling Heath is situated in the heart of the rural North Norfolk countryside, well away from any intrusive lighting. It is reknowned as one of the darkest sites in the country with an unrivalled view of the night sky. As well as marvelling at the Milky Way we can see crystal clear views of other planetary neighbours which we probably haven't been able to discern elsewhere. Because of this the Norwich Astronomical Society organise twice yearly star parties at Kelling Heath, attended by hundreds of astronomers from all over the country. The autumn event is thought to be the largest star party in Europe.
